Lazuli biographyLAZULI are a French rock ensemble, currently recognized as an arousing, enchanting and vigorous prog rock value. Formed in 1998, their musical debut was tough and unoriginal, but in the next years, revealing a promising number of shows and a music undergoing a quality transition, they earned the appreciation those bands capable of making unusual, very pleasant or promptly fresh music usually receive. Their best release so far, On Avant Doute, is a fantastic record for some, while, generally, its critic and feedback is positive.

M83/Reunion

Breton

The background: Breton are an inscrutable bunch of musicians and award-winning indie film-makers with, we are told, "cutting-edge video and sound design work under their belts" for the likes of Temper Trap, Penguin Prison and Tricky. They're so inscrutable they don't just live in south-east London, they have a "base" there, a former bank known as BretonLABS, where these multi-instrumentalist, multimedia types work on their music and audio-visuals, and do remixes for the likes of Local Natives, Chapel Club and Maps & Atlases. When they do venture out of BretonLABS, it is to perform shows shrouded in black hoods, lit only by the glow of their homemade, self-shot movies, which are cut and edited live by their touring-only fifth member as the four musicians play, variously, guitars, bass, synths, drums and laptops to create an intriguing sort of dubsteppy but poppy art-rock-cum-cinematic electronica.

Lost in Atlantis

Lost In Atlantis, also known as LIA, was formed in 2008. LIA consists of band members Liz, Eric, Tim and David.


LIA is planning on world domination! Their 15 song debut album, "Silent World", is available on BigCartel, iTunes, CD Baby, Napster, etc.

Campo

CAMPO define their style as "subtropical music". The term marks an ironic way of setting the differences with tropical music and makes nods to other genres such as cumbia villera, the urban sound born and bred in the marginal neighborhoods of Argentina and Uruguay. CAMPO's music is also fueled with hints of british indie pop, electro, rock and tango.

Animal Kingdom is a British alternative rock trio comprising Richard Sauberlich on vocals, guitar, and piano, Hamish Crombie on bass, and Geoff Lea on drums. They have released two studio albums; Signs and Wonders in 2009 and The Looking Away on May 8, 2012.

Of Monsters and men

Of Monsters and Men is a six piece indie folk/indie pop band from Iceland and the 2010 winners of Músíktilraunir, an annual battle of the bands competition in Iceland.^[1]

The band members are co-singer/guitarist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, co-singer/guitarist Ragnar “Raggi” Þórhallsson, guitarist Brynjar Leifsson, drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson, piano/accordion player Árni Guðjónsson, and bassist Kristján Páll Kristjánsson.^[2]

Tio Lucho

Desde sus orígenes Tío lucho trae una pegajosa mezcla de música dance punk creada desde las estridentes calles de santiago ciudad capital de Chile. 

La base musical conceptual (Cristóbal Rawlins, Francisco Matta y Fernando Arredondo) hace su aparición a comienzos del 2004, con energéticas canciones que rompen los hasta ese momento muteados oídos de sus espectadores y hacen bailar a una juventud sedienta de desenfreno y excesos sonoros. Ese año la banda promueve en las calles su primer trabajo discográfico: “No me sigas”, EP grabado en CFA (corporación fonográfica autónoma) y distribuido en cada presentación que la banda realiza en los distintos escenarios de la capital.

Duck Sauce está formado por la colaboración entre los DJ's Armand Van Helden y A-Trak.

El objetivo de producir pistas de disco house es que será de interés para los disc-jockeys.

Sus primeras canciones fueron "aNYway" y "You're Nasty". Su primer EP Greatest Hits se estrenó en Septiembre de 2009.¹ La canción "aNYway" tiene letras mayúsculas para indicar los orígenes de la banda en Nueva York.

Duck Sauce lanzó un sencillo en verano de 2010, "Barbra Streisand", llamado así por la cantante del mismo nombre, nace a partir de un sampler del clásico del 79 de Boney M, “Gotta Go Home”, que a su vez es una versión o cover, en inglés del hit de la banda alemana Nighttrain "Hallo Bimmelbahn" que salió en el 1973,y en él se mezcla la música disco y el house a partes iguales. "Barbra Streisand" se escuchó por primera vez en Miami Winter Music Conference 2010, y está consiguiendo gran apoyo en el Reino Unido e Irlanda, Polonia, Francia, Australia y Nueva Zelanda. En Australia, "Barbra Streisand", se escuchó por primera vez en la estación de radio Triple J, mientras que en Nueva Zelanda hizo su debut en la estación de radio de Auckland 95bFM. La canción ya se ha trasladado a varias estaciones de radio comerciales y ha aumentado su popularidad. Alcanzó el Número 1 en el ARIA Club Chart a partir del 12 de septiembre de 2010.²

M83

Lo que vemos es el asombroso primer videoclip del single que ha lanzado la banda M83 esta semana, Midnight City, como parte de su próximo álbum doble Hurry up, We´re Dreaming. Bajo los acordes de un sintetizador espacial, la pieza visual nos sumerge en una escuela de niños con telequinesia, todos con poderes extraños, con ojos brillantes, que se escapan de la escuela irrumpiendo en un almacén abandonado donde dan rienda suelta a todo su poder… Todo muy familiar si gustas de muchas de las grandes aventuras tanto en cine como en la literatura fantástica con los que M83 quiere homenajear.
Y es que la banda lanza un videoclip épico y lleno de referencias al universo más geek que conocemos. Un tributo que, como ellos mismos indican, bebe de los X-Men, el clásico de Spielberg Close Encounters of the Third Kind, la gran Village of the Damned de Wolf Rilla, la escuela de Howarts o Akira.

MATHANGI ARULPRAGASAM

Hija del revolucionario tamil Arul Pragasam, nació en el municipio de Hounslow, Londres. Cuando tenía 6 meses, su familia regresó a Sri Lanka. Motivado por los esfuerzos del pueblo tamil para independizarse de la mayoría cingalesa, su padre se convirtió en el conocido activista político Arular y fue miembro fundador de la EROS (Eelam Revolutionary Organisation of Students), un grupo tamil militante. Su alias , "M.I.A." , viene tanto de "Missing in action" (Desaparecida en acción), como "Missing in Acton" aludiendo a su barrio de Londres, Acton, y su tumultuosa juventud.


Sus obras de arte y sus letras han sido motivo de censura. El gobierno de los EEUU visita su página web oficial con asiduidad, y la MTV prefiere no emitir su single "Sunshowers" hasta que no se quiten las alusiones a la Organización de Liberación Palestina. Cuando ella estaba en etapas de producción de su álbum Kala, se le negó la visa en los Estados Unidos, es supuesto por la mayoría de las personas que la verdadera causa por la cual le negaron la entrada a los EEUU fué por sus controversias y videos liberales que plasmaban la situación violenta por la cual pasaba el mundo sin censura, aunque hace poco aunque en YouTube recientemente ha conseguido mas de 21 millones de visitas en su single "Paper planes

BREATHE CAROLINA

Breathe Carolina es un duo estadounidense de electronicore y crunkcore formado en Denver, en el año 2007, por Kyle Even y David Schmit. La banda ha lanzado 2 álbumes de estudio y un EP. En su primer disco, It's Classy, Not Classic (2008), la agrupación tocó una mezcla entre Post-hardcore, electronica y crunkcore  este último dejado de lado por completo, para el lanzamiento de su segundo disco,Hello Fascination, donde se apreciaba el electro-rock, con toques de electronipop y hardcore electrónico.

ELECTROPOP PURO

Miami Horror es una banda electropop natural de Melbourne, Australia. Formada por Benjamin Plant, Josh Moriarty, Aaron Shanahan y Daniel Whitechurch. También se puede referir al productor y fundador de la banda Benjamin Plant.

Influenciado por artistas dance-pop de los años 1970 y 1980 como New Order, Electric Light Orchestra y Michael Jackson, y el rock progresivo tales como Todd Rundgren, Supertramp y Pink Floyd, Miami Horror tomó influencia de artistas de tal nivel y los combinó con técnicas modernas de la producción. Benjamin Plant, líder de la banda, cuyo nombre real es Benjamin Vanguarde, comenzó el proyecto hace algunos años gracias a su obsesión por los teclados Roland.

A NYC BAND

Interpol is an American indie rock and post-punk revival band from New York City.^[1] Formed in 1997, the band's original line-up consisted of Paul Banks (vocals, guitar), Daniel Kessler(guitar, vocals), Carlos Dengler (bass guitar, keyboards) and Greg Drudy (drums, percussion). Drudy left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Sam Fogarino. In 2010, shortly after recording finished for the band's fourth album, Dengler left to pursue personal projects.

Friendly Fires met at St Albans School. At age 13, in Year 8/9 (the second or third year) the members formed their first band, a post-hardcore outfit called First Day Back , covering songs by Green Day and other rock-like artists, which existed until they began university. During this time lead singer Ed Macfarlane released his own music (under his own name) through the electronica label Skam, and Precinct Recordings. Upon leaving university they formed a new band inspired by dance music, "lush shoegaze melodies", and classic pop songwriting. The name Friendly Fires originates from the opening track of the Section 25 LP Always Now. The band consider German techno label Kompakt, Carl Craig and Prince to be their greatest influences.

SBTRKT (pronounced as "subtract") is the stage name of Aaron Jerome, a musician and producer from London, United Kingdom. SBTRKT began his career as a DJ in the east London club "Plastic People". SBTRKT has remixed songs by artists such as M.I.A, Radiohead, Modeselektor, Basement Jaxx, Mark Ronson and Underworld, and has released singles, EPs, and a self-titled album. SBTRKT's music is a mixture of two-step, UK funky, dubstep, US RnB and Chicago house.

Metronomy are an electronic music group formed by Joseph Mount in Totnes, Devon, England in 1999. The current band consists of Joseph Mount (composer, singer, keyboards and guitar), Anna Prior (drums and vocals), Oscar Cash (saxophone, backing vocals, guitars and keyboards) and Gbenga Adelekan (bass guitar and vocals). Their music consists of instrumental electronic music and more recently, with the release of Nights Out, vocal electronic pop music. Mount also releases remixes under the name Metronomy, and has remixed many artists including Gorillaz, Roots Manuva, Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons, Goldfrapp, The Young Knives, Zero 7, Ladytron, Kate Nash, Lady Gaga and Lykke Li.

Metronomy have released three albums of original material, Pip Paine (Pay The £5000 You Owe), Nights Out and The English Riviera which was released in April 2011.

American progressive rock band from El Paso, Texas. Founded in 2001 by guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López and vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala, the band incorporates various influences including progressive rock, krautrock, jazz fusion, Latin American music, and the rhythmic complexity of math rock into their sound. They are known for their energetic live shows, as well as their concept-based studio albums. In 2009, the band won a Grammy Award in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category for the song "Wax Simulacra." They were named rock music's "Best Prog-Rock Band" of 2008 by Rolling Stone magazine.

The Volta is taken from a Federico Fellini book about his films, what he characterizes as a changing of scene, or a turnaround; a new scene to him is called Volta. Y'know, changing of time and the changeover. And Mars, we're just fascinated by science fiction so and it's something that ultimately looked as in anything I write, its meaning is always up to the listener. As the way we write songs and words, if it looks great on paper then to us it's like painting, so if it looks good meaning the second then people usually have a better interpretation than we ever would.

THIS IS JUST PERFECT

The Temper Trap is an Australian indie rock band which formed in 2005. The core members are Dougy Mandagi on vocals and guitar, Jonathon Aherne on bass guitar and vocals, Toby Dundas on drums and programming and Lorenzo Sillitto on guitar, keyboards and vocals. They are supplemented on tours with Joseph Greer on keyboards and guitar. In 2008, the group relocated from Melbourne to London. The band released their debut album Conditions in June 2009 to favourable reviews and commercial success; it peaked at No. 9 on the ARIA Albums Chart and into the top 30 on the UK Albums Chart. Its lead single, "Sweet Disposition", peaked in the top 10 on the Belgian, Irish and UK Singles Charts and reached No. 14 on the ARIA Singles Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2010 in November, The Temper Trap won 'Best Group' for their album Conditions and 'Most Popular Australian Single' for "Sweet Disposition".


The group is in the process of releasing a new album, with a planned release date of sometime in early this year.

A SINGLE GETTING BETTER AND BETTER

 After three albums and various EPs, Port O’Brien is no more. After some time travel/living in various locations (Alaska, Oslo, San Fran, New York), the band’s lead singer/songwriter Van Pierszalowski returns with a new project called WATERS and the single “For The One” in advance of a new solo LP Out In The Light. He recorded it with a band “he found in Oslo,” but we’re told WATERS is entirely Van’s outlet. The name is revealing — still nautical, now stripped to its core element — and the material retains Van’s knack for scruffy and rambunctious, catchy melodies, but here with a high-gain college radio guitar and just one loud, rousing voice.

Snow Patrol are an alternative rock band from Bangor, Northern Ireland. Formed at the University of Dundee in 1994 as an indie rock band, the band is now based in London. The band's first three records, the EP Starfighter Pilot (1997), and the studio albums Songs for Polarbears (1998) andWhen It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up (2001), were commercially unsuccessful and were released by the independent labels Electric Honey andJeepster respectively. The band then signed on to the major record label Polydor Records in 2002.

FRENCH ELECTRIC DUO

Jus†ice is a French electronic music duo consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay . The duo is one of the most successful groups on Ed Banger Records and is managed by the label's head, Pedro Winter. Justice is known for incorporating a strong rock and indie influence into their music and image.

Their debut album † was released in June 2007 to critical acclaim. The album was later nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album and came in at number 15 onPitchfork's Top 50 Albums of 2007  and number 18 on Blender's "25 Best Albums of 2007" list.  It was nominated for the 2007 Shortlist Prize, losing out to The Reminder by Feist. Their remix of the MGMT song "Electric Feel" won the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical in 2009.

In September 2009, it was announced that Justice would be moving to WMG/Atlantic's newly relaunched Elektra Records label. The band reportedly started working on their second album in mid-2010. The first single entitled "Civilization" was released on 28 March 2011.  The band released their second album, Audio, Video, Disco, on 24 October 2011.
